SINOPEC (Dalian) Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as FRIPP) is a scientific research unit directly under SINOPEC. Founded in 1953, it is the first petroleum research institution established in People’s Republic of China and a leading domestic and internationally renowned supplier of high-quality refining and chemical technologies. Its main scientific research areas include clean oil refining, utilities, emerging energy and resource, petrochemical materials and informatization. It has several scientific research platforms at national level such as Nation and Locality Joint Engineering Research Center for Petrochemical Pollution Prevention, National Paraffin Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, National Engineering Research Center for Harmless and Resource-oriented Treatment of Industrial Wastewater, etc. and more than ten scientific research affiliated institutions at provincial and ministerial level. It also has a post-doctoral workstation.

By the end of 2021, FRIPP has won scientific and technological awards 24 items at national level and 466 items at provincial and ministerial level, and has applied 9522 domestic and foreign patents in all, and own 499 items of SINOPEC Proprietary Technology, and its scientific research results have been applied to more than 860 production units at home and abroad.

The 2022 Global High-level Talent Introduction Plan of FRIPP is constituted by 9 positions involving research areas of energy storage, degradable materials, carbon neutralization, high-end carbon materials, artificial intelligence, engineering plastics, asphalt-based carbon fiber, electrochemical synthesis and bio-based materials. Only one person will be recruited for each position.

Details of Positions for 2022 Global Recruitment of High-level Talents

Name of Position 1. Expert in energy storage technology
Responsibilities
(1) Making strategy and planning for FRIPP’s development in flow battery large-scale energy storage technology;
(2) Developing key material, stack and outfit for flow battery;
(3) Promoting the complete technology in the market; providing the technical service; and
(4) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; conducting academic and technical exchanges; tracking the technology; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.
Requirements
(1) Good at team work; effective in team building, R&D, technology promotion, and other work; able to achieve the expected R&D objectives;
(2) Not more than 50 years old and with a doctor's degree;
(3) Having more than 10 years of relevant working experience; highly professional; competent in R&D (priority will be given to person who once was the principal management personnel in relevant research institute);
(4) Having high-level academic attainments; having great influence within the industry by the papers or works published or by the scientific research results obtained; and
(5) For those with outstanding performance, the conditions on age, education and experience could be bent a little.
Name of Position 2. Expert in degradable materials
Responsibilities
(1) Making strategy and planning for FRIPP’s development in degradable materials;
(2) Developing degradable materials polymerized with lactide, succinic acid, 1,4-butanediol, glycolide, caprolactone, etc.;
(3) Participating in the product development, promotion and service; mastering the latest information about the industry and competition; maintaining technical advantages; and
(4) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; conducting academic and technical exchanges; tracking the technology; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.

Requirements

(1) Good at team work; able to lead the team to promote the R&D progress of different business lines and to achieve the expected R&D objectives;
(2) Not more than 50 years old and with a doctor's degree;
(3) Having more than 10 years of relevant working experience; highly professional; competent in R&D (priority will be given to person who once was the principal management personnel in relevant research institute);
(4) Having high-level academic attainments and experience in industrialization of degradable materials such as polylactic acid, PBS, PBST, etc.; having great influence within the industry by the papers or works published or by the research results obtained; and
(5) For those with outstanding performance, the conditions on age, education and experience could be bent a little.

Name of Position 3. Expert in high-end carbon materials
Responsibilities
(1) Making strategy and planning for FRIPP’s development in high-end petroleum-based carbon materials;
(2) Developing technology in respect to mesophase asphalt and asphalt-based carbon materials; solving the related problems in production and engineering;
(3) Engaging in market promotion and technical service of mesophase asphalt and asphalt-based carbon materials; mastering the latest information about the industry and competition; maintaining the technical advantages; and
(4) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; conducting academic and technical exchanges; tracking the technology; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.
Requirements
(1) Good at team work; able to lead the team to promote the R&D progress of different business lines and to achieve the expected R&D objectives;

(2) Developing technology in respect to carbon footprint accounting and carbon emission reduction methodology;
(3) Developing technology relating to high-return carbon dioxide utilization and novel carbon dioxide capture, etc.; and
(4) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; conducting academic and technical exchanges; tracking the technology; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.
Requirements

Name of Position 5. Expert in intelligent algorithm in AI
Responsibilities
(1) Tracking and analyzing the status and trend of AI technology in petrochemical industry; participating in the planning of FRIPP’s AI technology development;
(2) Developing intelligent algorithm, models, intelligent applications, and system platform (or other technology); organizing major project application;
(3) Analyzing the demand for intelligent algorithm in petrochemical industry; building algorithm library; developing AI applications; promoting the technology; expanding the market;
(4) Organizing relevant technical exchanges and international cooperation; participating in the application of national and local engineering technology or innovation centers; and
(5) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.
Requirements
(1) Not more than 45 years old and with a doctor's degree;
(2) Having solid professional foundation, R&D competence and management experience in petrochemical mechanism models, process simulation, planning optimization, digital twins, etc.;
(3) Having more than 5 years of working experience in universities, renowned companies or research institutions, and having undertook or participated in AI projects or technology development influential in petrochemical industries;
(4) Having great ability in teamwork and management (priority will be given to person who once was the principal management personnel or the person in charge of major project or R&D team);
(5) For those with outstanding performance, the conditions on age, education and experience could be bent a little.
Name of Position 6. Expert in carbon fiber
Responsibilities
(1) Making strategy and planning for FRIPP’s development in asphalt-based carbon fiber;
(2) Developing technology in respect to asphalt-based carbon fiber; solving the related problems in production and engineering;
(3) Carrying out the market promotion and technical service for FRIPP’s asphalt-based carbon fiber; mastering the latest information about the industry and competition; maintaining the competitiveness of the technology; and
(4) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; conducting academic and technical exchanges; tracking the technology; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.

(3) Carrying out market promotion and technical service for engineering plastics such as nylon, polyester, polycarbonate and their monomers; mastering the latest information about the industry and competition; maintaining the competitiveness of the technology; and
(4) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; conducting academic and technical exchanges; tracking the trend of the technology; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.

(2) Developing the technology in respect to electrochemical synthesis; conducting the design and test of electrocatalysts and the R&D work on membrane electrode preparation process and electrochemical reactors;
(3) Responsible for the demonstration, application, promotion and technical service of the complete technology; mastering the latest information about the industry and competition; maintaining the competitiveness of the technology; and
(4) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; conducting academic and technical exchanges; tracking the trend of the technology; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.

(2) Developing bio-based materials and their polymerization precursors such as diacid, diol, diamine, hydroxyl acid, lignin, etc.
(3) Participating in R&D, promotion and service of bio-based material products; mastering the latest information about the industry and competition; maintaining the competitiveness of the technology; and
(4) Cultivating the personnel; building the team; conducting academic and technical exchanges; tracking the trend of the technology; and keeping the competitiveness of the team.
Requirements
(1) Good at team work; able to lead the team to promote the R&D progress of different business lines and to achieve the expected R&D objectives;

Salary and benefits:

1. Working place: Lushunkou, Dalian, Liaoning, P. R. China

2. Salary: In the range of RMB 500 thousand to 2 million each year. Settling-in allowance in the range of RMB 1.2 million to 5 million will be provided in addition if the governmental policy on high-level talent introduction in Dalian can be met. The specific salary for different positions is negotiable.

3. Scientific research funds and conditions: The start-up funds of RMB 10 million will be provided. Necessary software and hardware conditions and procurement fund will also be provided.

4. Work team: Three to eight people will be provided to build the team at the very beginning. New members can be added according to actual needs later on.

5. Necessary office conditions will be provided and one apartment ready for moving in will also be provided (the rent will be borne by FRIPP without any cost from the employee);

6. Others: Matters such as settling down, children's schooling, spouse's work, etc. will be assisted by FRIPP.
